Thank you for your understanding. Chris Moz Yes David, unfortunatly i have the exact same ukash ransomware virus that you speak about. AVG completly missed the virus failing to even notice it or flag up any kind of a warning that i was being infected let alone stop the virus or remove it.
The antivirus was fully up to date i am now locked out of my pc other than the fake met police notice demanding money to unlock it. Quite laughable that the virus victim knew more about the threat than the avg support staff did. They still havent discovered it to add fo their database despite it being in the wild since !!! Dunno how the hell they expect a remote support connection.
What part of being completly locked out and unable to do anything dont these people understand. The saying "pay peanuts get monkeys" springs to mind. I really don't understand AVG's reluctance to address this issue. You need to sign in to do that. Need an account? Sign Up. Have an account? Sign In Facebook. Need help? And if you cannot resolve your ransomware issue if you'll post back in this thread with further details someone will try to assist you Serina Tang.
I am running Windows XP. When I tap F8 I obtain the screen with the 3 options of safe mode safe mode with networking safe mode with command prompt I have tried all 3 options but once I select any option the pc restarts rather than opening in safe mode.
